The trip overview
Aristi (OVERNIGHT) – Vikos Gorge – Aristi (OVERNIGHT) – Mt. Timphi – Dragon Lake – Aristi (OVERNIGHT)
Why we go there?
Epirus – Aoos National park. They call it “The Greek Alps” because of the beauty and the breathtaking scenery. High mountains, deep canyons, wild nature, traditional villages, arched stone made bridges and friendly mountain people are some of the pieces that creating one of the most must-to-visit nature puzzles.
This program is a short version of MS0201. You can visit the world’s deepest canyon (900m / 2.950f) and the famous “dragon lake” at Mt. Timphi.
Day 1 Arrive at Thessaloniki or Ioannina. Transfer to Aristi village. Overnight.
Day 2 Hiking at Vikos gorge (6-7 h) up to village Vikos. Transfer to village Aristi. Overnight.
Day 3 Transfer to village Papingo (30’) and the climbing up to Astraka refuge (3 h) at an altitude 1930 m (6.330 f). After a short brake we will visit the Dragon lake (2 h). Overnight at Aristi.
