Why we go there?
Very few mountains have kept through history their ancient names: Olympus, Fujiyama, Vesuvius, Demavend, Elbrus and Mt.Khan Tengri. The peak full of history and myths stands at 2917m just only few kilometers from the sea. This is a fantastic route through the northwest and more alpine side of the mountain. All the way has a fantastic and charming touch near the two main ridges, the Naoum Ridge and Skolio Ridge.
Undoubtedly, Mt. Olympus is the highest, most alpine and one of the most beautiful mountains in Greece.
Day 1 Arrival in the town of Katerini and drive first to Petra village and then to Xerolaki area for overnight at tends.
Day 2 After breakfast at the camp area we start hiking via xerolaki dry stream, and walk through the alpine NW side to the Muses plateau. Overnight at the refuge. No drinking water at the route! 5-7 hours.
Day 3 Breakfast early in the morning, and then we climb Myticas and descent to the camp. Drive back to Katerini. 5-7 h.
Health and medical
The guide will have a first aid kit. We recommend to bring with your own medicines you might need
As in mountains of this high, weather is quite unpredictable, but from June to September are the best months for ascent
