Cros Country Ski

Skiers long before skiing centers were established would climb up the mountains using wooden skies and “skins». Nowadays these who look for open horizons away from crowded skiing centers discover mountaineering ski.

It requires good skiing abilities as well as long experience in mountaineering. The skis are a little shorter, more flexible and lighter than those of the pist. The bindings are lifted up at the rear part when ascending and they lock and looks like those of the common ski during descending. In addition during ascending synthetic leather stripes are attached under the skis for preventing sliding backwards. The snow we met away from ski runs is virgin and unpredictable but the sense of isolation we experience is unique.
